Statement

The keyword in my photographic work is "versatile". My approach to picture-making changes between each project I take on but they all have the same underlying theme and feel. This "feeling" in my photographs is based on my own perception of and my emotional connection to the subjects that I photograph.

When I intend to document a subject I first consider my associations with the subject and feelings towards it. I often want to glorify or bring beauty out of otherwise mundane subjects and give them importance that they would otherwise not be given. In these instances I pay close attention to lighting techniques and color relationships, as well as the perspective and view point of the camera. All of these can alter the image so I am meticulous about everything that goes into or stays out of my images.
